I can't believe that homecoming is this Friday! This year is zooming by, but we are having a blast! Due to homecoming, we will be reviewing reading skills and there will not be any reading or language tests. Next week we will be on Lesson 7. Here are a few "Black Out" pics! Tomorrow is favorite college team shirt!
We have had so much fun with our Science unit on the Human body! Today we continued our study by building models of the thumb! We identified the bones, joints, muscle, and tendons in the thumb. We also took some fun class pictures! Don't forget to check out some more pictures in the gallery section of our website.
We have officially started our Science unit on the Human Body! Last week, we started off with the skeleton. It was so much fun seeing students put together their skeletons and decorating them. I love when we can use our creativity to help us learn!
This week we continued learning about bones by inspecting bones found in owl pellets. Our 3rd graders had a blast finding the rodent bones and comparing them to the human skeleton. (Even though it's gross, everyone really got into it!) Pictures will be posted in our gallery asap!
I hope everyone has had a great start to their week, I know we did in our class! I had students record their homework and test reminders in their agenda today. For those of you who are wanting more information, don't worry! I am sending home information in our weekly newsletter that will be sent home in our Tuesday bus folders. (Unless we still do not have the new folders, in which case the papers will go home in a student folder.)
Along with the newsletter, parents will recieve several letters about math websites and lessons, a textbook sign out sheet, and any school reminders to be sent home.
Let me know if you still have questions or concerns!
Tomorrow is the big day! Don't forget to send the welcome packet back to school as soon as you can. I can't wait to see some of my kiddos again and meet those that couldn't be here at open house. Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to comment on the blog! :)
Welcome to the 3rd grade! I am so excited to begin a new year with all of my wonderful students! Since we still have a little time before the year begins, some parts of this website will be pretty bare until I have all of the information I need. Please feel free to ask me any questions or comments and I will reply as soon as possible. Orientation/ open house will be August 5th, from 3:00 to 5:30! I'm looking forward to seeing you there!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
I know that it seems like the lists get longer every year, but these are just some of the supplies we use throughout the year to help students learn, stay healthy, and to keep our classroom clean and sanitary. With 20+ kiddos in a room, supplies disappear quickly, so it is very helpful for parents to help with costs. You are appreciated! We couldn't do our job as well without your support with materials and at home. The 3rd grade supply list can be found at the back of the school, or at Walmart in Centreville. I am also posting it here, just in case they are all gone.
